The ongoing maintenance of GRP accreditation demonstrates that GRPs are keeping up to date with rapidly changing industry trends, technologies and best practices. In order to maintain accredited status, GRPs must satisfy the following requirements within two years of the date they wrote the exam (or within two years of their most recent renewal date):
For more information download a Green Roof Professional (GRP) Benefits package or see below. Individual or Individual Affiliate Membership RenewalAs of January 1, 2011, all GRPs are required to be GRHC Individual ($160 US annually) or Individual Affiliate ($100 US annually) Members in good standing. Memberships can be renewed online by logging into greenroofs.org, selecting Your Member Profile from the Members Menu at left, select the Membership Status tab and follow the link to the GRP membership registration process. Misplaced or forgotten passwords can be reset by contacting Paul Erlichman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Alternately, a hard copy renewal form may be completed and faxed or mailed back to GRHC along with payment. For more information on membership, please see www.greenroofs.org/membership. GRP Renewal FeeA biennial GRP renewal fee of $95 US is required to renew the GRP designation. Click here to remit this fee online, or download a membership/GRP renewal form. Obtaining Continuing Education UnitsIn order to maintain accredited status, GRPs must obtain 16 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within two years of the date they wrote the exam (or within two years of their last renewal date). A minimum number of eight CEUs must be acquired via GRHC related activities (e.g. conferences, symposiums, workshops, courses) while the remaining 8 CEUs can be acquired via external programs provided they are related to one or more aspects of green roof design, installation, or maintenance. In general, one CEU is equivalent to one hour of learning. Types of activities which may qualify for CEUs include:
For a list of upcoming GRHC events which may qualify for CEUs, see Upcoming Events page. GRPs can also obtain CEUs online via the Living Architecture Academy, an online learning center offering 24/7 on-demand access to green roof and wall continuing education, including conference proceedings, courses, webinars, research papers and more. Reporting Continuing Education UnitsAll CEUs must be self-reported using the GRP Continuing Ed tab of a GRP's online Member Profile. Member Profiles can be accessed by logging in to this web site via the Member Login area (located below the main menu on the left hand side of the page). Once logged in, select Your Member Profile from the Members Menu at left, and follow the instructions on the GRP Continuing Ed tab to record CEUs. Member Profiles will be audited to ensure compliance with these guidelines. Any credits being claimed that appear to fall outside the scope of the requirements described above will be forwarded to our Training and Accreditation Manager for review. There will be a grace period of 3 months for reporting CEUs following the two-year period renewal period. If CEUs are not self-reported by the end of the 3 month period then the GRP credential will not be renewed without paying a $200 penalty. If an excess of CEUs are accumulated in the two-year period, up to 50% (8 CEUs) can be carried forward into the next two-year period. |
