Brad Bass, Chair, Research Committee Dr. Brad Bass is an adjunct professor in the University of Toronto’s Centre for Environment and an Adaptation & Impacts Researcher for Environment Canada’s Adaptation and Impacts Research Division. He received his PhD in Geography from Penn State University focusing on using information theory as an indicator of the quality of climate and meteorological observations and forecasts. His current research interests include the impact of green roofs and walls on energy conservation, the use of breathing walls to increase indoor air quality and energy conservation, ecological technologies for adaptation to climate change, agent-based simulation of complex systems, and the impacts of climate, socio-economic and technological change on the energy sector. Brad also chairs the North American Green Roof Research Committee. He is currently collaborating with researchers at Portland State University to develop a Green Roof Energy Calculator.
